Our Pricing Model
Synchra is a subscription-based product. There's an initial licensing fee, and then a yearly renewal fee. The renewal fee is half of the current year's licensing fee. As long as you renew, Synchra remains active. If your subscription lapses, Synchra will stop working and will notify you to renew.
You might be wondering why Synchra is sold on a subscription basis, instead of a one-time licensing fee. There are several reasons:
- Subscriptions keep pricing low. Synchra doesn't cost a lot. The initial licensing would be significantly more expensive if we were selling it the traditional way. With the subscription model, you can spread your costs over a longer time period, and we can do the same. It helps us both.
- One-time licenses are only valid until the next upgrade release. Sure, you can buy a piece of software and take it home with you, but guess what? In less than a year or so, the vendor will release a newer version that you'll have to pay an upgrade fee for. So you're still locked in to a recurring fee. It's just hidden.
- Subscriptions keep us from having arbitrary release schedules. How many times have you needed to pay an upgrade fee for software you've bought, because you needed the enhancements the upgrade provided? Well, did you ever wonder what took the vendor so long? In some cases, it's simply because the vendor needed to hold off on the feature specifically so that it would entice people to upgrade. We have no arbitrary timetables here. As soon as we add a feature, it will be made available. Product enhancements will be prioritized based on value to our customers, not major release timetables.
We hope you understand our philosophy. We think it's friendlier in the long run than the traditional software sales model. We hope you agree.
Software Subscription
Synchra is priced according to the number of synchronization mappings you're processing. A synchronization mapping is the synchonizing of a single data source to another. Here's an example.
Synchronization Mappings
Database -> Exchange Public Folder
Database -> Active Directory
In this example, you have two synchronization mappings.
Here is the price matrix:
